We bought all LG appliances 4 years ago and the refrigerator stopped working. No repair options or parts available and have not received pro rated refund. Poor customer service.

The fridge is nice. Easy to use counter depth and normally works just fine. However the compressor first died about 3 years into ownership. Thankfully we had bought an extended warranty which covered everything. Then 2 years later the compressor died again LG has a 10 year warranty on the compressors so they replaced the compressor and we paid for labor. So kudos to LG for sticking by their products but there is no way that a fridge should go through 2 very expensive compressors in 5 years. Were going to switch out this fridge before year 7. Bottom line - find a different fridge to buy.

good distribution of space and a nice water/ice dispenser.
But it suffers from what seems to be a LG unique issue i.e. the compressor crapping out after a few years less than 6 in our case. So even if LG pays for the parts well be out of a few hundreds after repair not counting not having a fridge for a while .
I would not recommend the product until this compressor issue is addressed I would otherwise.

Loved the refrigerator/freezer until it completely stopped cooling one day after 3.5 yrs of use Called LG Customer Service who confirmed 5yr Warranty on coolant workings. After LG inability to find a Service Technician in our area Buffalo NY and my sending them a copy of proof of purchase and manufactures door sticker per their directions they have bumped up our problem to the next level and are considering total replacement of the refrigerator. Appreciate their customer service effort to date but await timely resolution. Going without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks now has grown old We have had good results with other LG products currently and in the past. This is disappointing.

Loved my unit Worked great till it didnt No complaints until almost the five year mark when it stopped working. LG was speedy with coordinating repairs. Ultimately the unit couldnt be saved. They are sending me a check which will put a small dent towards the cost of my new unit Costs have gone up 30 since I last bought. Overall I would buy a LG again

Our refrigerator compressor just failed well out of warranty but LG stepped up and replaced the compressor at no charge. All is working well and it only took 2 days to get us back to using our awesome LG refrigerator.

I love my LG French Door Refrigerator. Ive always wanted a fridge with a bottom freezer and deil drawer and when the opportunity to renovate my kitchen became a reality I did not hesitate to include a French door fridge in the appliance package. The ice maker and door water/ice dispenser are so convenient the interior capacity is enormous in spite of the fact that the fridge is only counter-depth and it is easy to reach anything on the shelves.The bottom freezer is a winner with its large capacity and design and the ability to access anything easily is especially important for me. In all the time I have had my LG fridge there has only been one minor issue recently of water accumulating beneath the slide n glide deli drawer every 3-4 days but that was easily remedied by Suzor electric who determined that the water line was the culprit. Indeed it was and after a thorough cleaning the fridge is back to its normal purring and typical fridge sounds. It was one of the best appliance purchases I made and wouldnt hesitate to replace it with another LG French door refrigerator when this one is no longer serviceable.

I bought this fridge about 6 years ago. 3 years ago it stopped cooling. Ice melted water everywhere All my food was destroyed. Called LG and they said its out of warranty but would fix it one time only. Brought someone and they fixed it. Three more years go by and the same issue as the fridge does not cool. Lost all my food a 2nd time. I tried to chat with someone from LG and after wasting an hour of my time they said you need to call a out of warranty specialist. So they can tell me its out of warranty and I have to pay?? I will never buy another LG fridge and I mean that because the most important part of a fridge keeping things cold wants to break every 3 years.

The Linear compressor failed multiple times and so the fridge would stop cooling. LG tech repaired multiple times and it kept breaking. Customer service was a massive hassle and took a lot of time. We still have not been compensated/nor have they addressed the ice that melted and leaked on our floor when fridge stopped cooling. To cap things off the water dispenser flooded our kitchen. Any compensation is significantly less than food loss hassle and refrigerator cost

I loved this refrigerator for four years then it quit cooling both in refrigerator and freezer It was under warranty and I used a LG recommended repair shop. He put in a new compressor. It seems to be a common problem with this brand. The compressor did not solve the problem and needed to order parts. It took almost 4 weeks for the parts to come in and the refrigerator still did not work. I called LG and they determined it to be not repairable. I asked for a refund and not a replacement. The approval process is supposed to take 10 working days and then the refund if approved would take 6-8 weeks. They asked for more documentation after 5 days. It has been 2 weeks and I have not heard if it was approved.

Have had this refrigerator for nearly 6 years. During this time the ice maker froze and would dispense ice but would spontaneously dispense water when not in use Scary yes. We have had the compressor changed twice and it was leaking freon as well. Not a good product.

I love the amount of space in the freezer and the convenience of being able to get water on the outside of the refrigerator. There is a piece of plastic that is glued down on the bottom shelf above the drawers. Something got under that and I cant clean it out.

I bought this product 7 years ago and it needed to be fixed three times. The third time everything broke the compressor the motor and soon the chiller. Getting a repair person to show up less than 2 weeks would be a miracle. It is a proprietary company only they can fix it.

We heard this product had recall because of cooler and I strongly ask LG to take care of my labour fee which is 450$. Goldstar product used to be the best and we never had such issue even like 30-40 years ago and having broken cooler like in 6 year ? its non-sense. Purchased 5 yrs ago. The compressor stopped working. A LG repair person came out the
next day and replaced it. No charge and it works great. Appears to be a dependable refrigerator and I would buy again.
The only issue I have is the inability to clean around the ice maker and water dispenser area. There should be an easy access panel to get inside the unit to remove any mold/mildew. I think this is an industry problem that you would have with most if not all brands. The company that can advertise easy cleaning of this area would most likely have a significant sales increase from competition.
I like the unit and definitely would buy again unless a competitor comes up with an easy access to clean this area.

we bought this refrigerator due to having good features like basic functionality. Ice maker in the door and not in the body to have save little space counter depth fridges have. But too sad to see that compressor died 5 years to the date of purchase. Luckily LG stood behind their product and agreed to replace the compressor for free parts and labor covered. Not sure how long the compressor will last but this will help me to look at LG for my next refrigerator for sure.

Bought the counter depth refrigerator and the fit was perfect
Weve had it a few years now and unfortunately the compressor stopped working.
Since it was under warranty it was covered 100. Not only was the compressor covered but we were reimbursed for most of the food inside.
I was concerned with the noise I was hearing every time it turned on and was going to give it a couple of days to adjust before I called about it. By day 3 it adjusted because I no longer hear it turning on any more The quietness of the refrigerator was one of my favorite things about it. Along with that the size and room inside is perfect.

We purchased this in 2017 but realized in early in 2022 it wasnt staying cool enough. I contacted LG and then found out that are particular unit was part of a bad batch of compressors and components and as part of an agreement the parts and labor to repair identified problem areas were free for life. LG came through and covered the cost to replace compressor and condenser on our unit and the fridge is back to running perfectly.

Luckily bought the extended warranty to get it fixed and they replaced the compressor but now only a couple of weeks after having the compressor replaced its not working again and Im having to wait to hear from someone to be able to make an appointment to get it fixed...again. Lots of wasted food and really hard to provide for the family without a refrigerator. I typically like LG products but am very disappointed with this one. When it worked I loved it

Weve had our refrigerator for just over 2 years. Its been a great appliance and weve been really pleased with everything about it. Unfortunately we had a major issue. Coming from a facility maintenance background I know that no matter how great things are sometimes they break. Well the compressor on the unit blew and was totally unusable. I called customer service and they were absolutely great to work with. A technician came and replaced the compressor and everything is working great again. For me this was so reassuring just knowing how LG stood behind their product and how well they took care of my situation. I would highly recommend LG.

We bought this fridge about five years ago brand new. It stopped working in summer 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. When we called LG they said it was a known issue re compressor and that it would be 10 days before someone could come replace it. I have a child so we couldnt go without a fridge for 10 days so we sucked it up and bought a smaller one to use until this got fixed. They came and installed a new compressor. We learned from the repair guy that the compressor was part of a class action lawsuit because they were known to fail. October 2021 it died again - SAME compressor issue - because they just replaced the old one with another new defective one. In October ANOTHER new compressor was put in. That one died in February 2022. We are now on THREE compressors in 2.5 years. Wonder how long this one will work?

refrig/freezer operated well until compressor failure. took weeks to get a Lowes warranty service coverage. First service visit lasted 30 seconds to confirm compressor failure. Lowes closed tix and it took multiple calls to Lowes management to get someone out to repair. after two weeks i called LG warranty they said they would have someone call within 48-72 hours. No one ever came or called. Lowes service rep finally came removed old compressor and opened box with supposedly new compressor but in fact it was a used compressor. Two days later he returned with a new compressor. Refrig/freezer cooled down but regardless of refrig. temp setting it would not go below 37 degrees. Repair man indicated he has replaced over 500 compressors in our area and many for a second time. Lowes said unit had to fail 4 times before they would reimburse us the cost of the unit but that also means I have to lose over $1200.00 of goods and put up with slow service on multiple occasions. would not buy an LG again.
